Indigo dyed muslin, soy paste resist, and embroidery floss | 24” x 48” | 2026

This piece began as a technical experiment using hand-cut stencils to apply soy paste to fabric, which was later dyed in an indigo vat. As I went through the process of creating the piece with the stenciled image, I felt compelled to expand on the pattern, and chose to embroider into the fabric. I drew onto the fabric, and let my hand guide the development of the pattern from there. This is an ongoing piece.
